Join Europa for a special evening of live music at Penfield High School as part of the Penfield Central School District's celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.
On Thursday, October 22, Europa brings the unmistakable music of Carlos Santana to the Penfield community for a free concert celebrating the rhythms, sounds, and musical traditions that have helped make Santana's music a worldwide phenomenon.
Europa's seven-piece ensemble recreates the power and excitement of Santana's legendary live performances with soaring electric guitar, driving bass and drums, keyboards, dynamic vocals, and a percussion section at the heart of the band's Latin-rock sound.
The evening will feature music spanning Santana's extraordinary career, with favorites such as "Oye Como Va," "Black Magic Woman," "Evil Ways," "Smooth," "Maria Maria," "She's Not There," "Europa," and more.
Santana's music occupies a unique place in popular music, bringing together elements of Latin and Afro-Cuban rhythms, rock, blues, jazz, and soul into a sound recognized around the world. For Europa, this performance is an opportunity not only to celebrate an extraordinary musical catalog, but also to share music whose rhythms and influences connect generations and cultures.
Penfield Central School District is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month throughout September and October, recognizing the histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans. Europa is proud to be part of that celebration and to bring this music to students, families, and the greater Penfield community.
